Frankly, this was one project that didn’t give Alegria much of a headache. Of the 150 homes Alegria has acquired in the past three years, few have been as hip as the fourth-story condo at ICON San Diego. Located in the heart of downtown’s East Village, the community boasts the San Diego Padres Stadium and PETCO Park on one side, and the new San Diego Public Library on the other. Location is not the only great thing about this two-bed, two-bath property. The condo’s deck/patio is as big as the interior, giving new meaning to the phrase “bringing the outdoors inside.”
Alegria bought the condo in a short sale and had relatively little work to do to bring the property to a like-new condition. An interior designer was hired to stage the condo, but the bank insisted that it not go to market for 90 days. The ICON condo is an example of how Alegria’s market expertise in San Diego County pays off. “I know this area like the back of my hand,” said Alegria Principal Bradley Tuck. “We know the school districts, the problems, the price histories — and the best real estate values.”
Based on early feedback from realtors, this condo is expected to fly off the market when it is offered for sale.
The Project: 1,025-square-foot condo.
Location: San Diego, California
